How Can severe Chest Pain Along With Nausea Be Treated?

i ve been having really intense pain in my chest and back for a while and yesterday i fainted while at work. before i fainted i completely lost my vision and could barley hear and i felt really nauseous and hot like i had a fever. after i fainted i threw up a lot which never happens. my heart also tends to race a lot i don t know if that as anything to do with it though. i ve never fainted before yesterday so i don t know if it has anything to do with my back and chest. If you could get back to me as soon as possible, i d really appreciate it. thanks :)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is understandable to be concerned about the chest pain and loss of consciousness.

You would need to be assessed by your doctor. A complete history and physical examination are necessary. An ECG will likely be part of your examination in light of your chest pain. It is possible, if there are any conditions affecting the heart, that this would then affect the ability of the heart to pump blood to the brain which would lead to decreased consciousness and disturbance of vision.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
General & Family Physician
